Job Summary:
Isaan Der Thai Kitchen & Bar is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Thai Sous Chef to join our team. As a Thai Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing the kitchen operations, ensuring the smooth and efficient preparation of authentic Thai dishes. Your expertise in Thai cuisine, leadership abilities, and strong culinary skills will contribute to the success of our restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and organizing the daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating of Thai dishes
- Ensure adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards to maintain consistency and excellence in food presentation
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and recipes, while upholding the authenticity of Thai cuisine
- Supervise and train kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, portion control, and food safety practices
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to maintain adequate stock and minimize waste
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, complying with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist in the creation and implementation of standard operating procedures for the kitchen, ensuring efficiency and productivity
- Step in for the Head Chef in their absence, overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a Thai restaurant or culinary establishment
- Expertise in Thai cuisine, including knowledge of traditional recipes, ingredients, and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and guide a team of kitchen staff
- Proficiency in maintaining high food quality, taste, and presentation standards
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required
